This is an excellent opener mentalism trick which can engage even a very large audience and can help mentalist build a rapport with everyone. Professional mentalists use it as an opener in their shows. The mentalist without speaking a word makes everyone in audience choose a card. Then he tells the card that the audience has selected but reveals it again without speaking a word. The reveal of this trick is extremely unexpected and surprises everyone in the audience. An introvert and stage shy people friendly trick because you don't even need to speak a single word

This is again a very engaging mentalism trick which uses audiences phone as a prop. This is again a very engaging trick and bound to get crazy reactions from everyone in the audience. Mentalist puts audiences phone in an envelop and mixes it with 5 more envelopes which have dummy phones. Then he randomly put number 1-6 in the envelop. Then one by one the envelops are eliminated by the roll of a dice but elimination uses a real hammer to smash the envelop before revealing if it had the real phone or dummy. To the audience respite the real phone envelop is the one left at last helping get crazy reaction from audience

This is a powerful trick for closeup as well as stage magic. Mentalist hand over 3 cards to audience. Audience without looking at the prediction in the card, shuffles the cards and puts one card in pocket and keeps two cards at their hand. The mentalist then reveals that the prediction in each of the cards is 100% accurate and how audiences choices were influenced by the mentalist

One of the craziest mentalism routines with playing cards. People will be scratching their head after this. There are 2 decks of cards lying on the table. The audience chooses one deck from which the magic will be done and keep other deck in their pocket. The mentalist takes the cards out of that deck, shuffles them and spreads the cards for the audience to choose one card out of many they can see and just keep that in their mind. The mentalist then further shuffles the deck and hands it over to the audience. The audience then reveals the card that they had freely chosen. The mentalist then asks audience to spell that card out and for each letter deal one card to the table. Once the audience has dealt the cards on the table the last card is revealed to be their freely chosen card. The magic doesn’t stop here. The mentalist then tells the audience that while they believed they had a free choice it was mentalist who influenced them to choose the card. The mentalist again ask audience to take the other deck out of their pocket and again deal the cards to the table spelling the name of their card. The last card again is the audiences selected card. The magician then reinforces that he had already predicted what card they will choose and takes out and envelop which the audience opens to see the same card written as a prediction on a paper inside the envelop.

Another crazy mentalism routine where audience selects a card on a borrowed and randomly shuffled deck. The mentalist then reads their mind and reveals the card they are thinking of. The best part is that the mentalist never touches the deck before the selection is made. Even after the selection is made, the card is never added back to the deck. This magic can also be presented as a self-working card trick.

One of my favorite routines where you create the illusion of mind reading any random number. The mentalist asks his audience to roll an imaginary dice and think of the number at its top. He ask her not to tell this number to anyone and only keep it in her mind. He then reaches out to four more audience members to freely write some 2 digit numbers on a paper which he does not see. The audience who rolled the dice multiples these four numbers together. She then also multiples it with the imaginary dice she rolled. To come up with a final number. The mentalist start mind reading and first tells her how many digits are there in this number. Then he tells her the number she rolled on the imaginary dice (everyone goes crazy at this since this number was really only in her head). At last he completes the illusion by revealing the complete number that the audience is thinking about.

ESP is a powerful routine to do in closeup or small groups. I bring to you a special variation of ESP where mentalist puts down their prediction card before audience puts down their card, yet at the end mentalist has always predicted 100% correctly the cards their audience will put down.

Trick 7 - ESP Mind reading

One of my favorite routines on reading a card in the mind of the audience. This can be done using any borrowed deck. The audience shuffles a deck and stops at the place they want to. The audience looks at the top card and then looses it in the middle of the deck. The magician never looks at the audience when they are making the selection or touches the deck after the selection is made. Yet he is able to reveal the card audience is thinking about.

This is again a really powerful mentalism routine which could have many applications. The audience randomly hides an object under one of the 5 cups. The mentalist then pretends to read mind of the audience and eliminate the cups one by one to reveal where the object is hidden with 100% accuracy. (Does not use any gimmicked cups and can be done impromptu)

A really grand mentalism routine with a grand reveal. Imagine you and the audience are playing a game of chess. You eliminate each other’s pieces one by one till only 2 pieces and 2 kings are left. And then if mentalist reveals that he has secretly influenced this game to end at this point. He makes a grand reveal where a photograph/painting in the wall exactly reveals the pieces left in the game and their position to everyone’s shock

This is a trick from our advanced course “Mastering the art of mind reading ….30+ tricks”. The mentalist reads the name of an old friend the audience is thinking about. Can be used to create illusion of mind reading any name.

The mentalist borrows a note from the audience (but never sees it properly) and then ask audience to tell him the serial number of the note if they want it back. The audience does not know the serial number. The mentalist then creates an illusion of mind reading the subconscious of the person and reveals the exact serial number of the note.
